Group partner and head of our Jersey-based fund team Sam Sturrockcomments on the attractiveness of private investment funds in the Channel Islands in the latest edition of Global BLfrom Business Life magazine.

According to the publication, “demand for private equity funds is expected to double over the next two years as more investors are attracted to their flexibility, profitability and the ability to seek higher returns in times of volatility.”

‘We [Jersey and Guernsey] are well placed to act as a bridge between the UK and major post-Brexit European financial centers for alternative investment funds, particularly given the continued uncertainty over financial services between the UK and EU.

“We can also expect to see more interest in the stability of Jersey and Guernsey compared to other jurisdictions affected by geopolitics or dramatic regulatory change. This may mean that more non-EU private funds are created here with a link to US and developing markets.
